How did the program SEAM 360 originate?

I am an elementary teacher who loves working with children.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and currently working on my Doctorate in Training and Leadership Development.   I work in an Urban area. I have recently battled and succeeded in the fight against a rare and aggressive cancer entitled Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor. After being told that I would not survive past December of 2012, I was ecstatic to return to work.  It has always been my goal to encourage students to aim for their greatest potential.

The students, community and families stood by me during my battle and I want to return the favor by giving back to the community and encouraging our youth through a program I have designed to inspire excellence.

"I can foresee the individuals who participate the program giving back by becoming mentors in the future."

In sharing my story with students, many students have started to share their personal trials and stories with me.  It has become evident that there are a number of teens that need some form of outlet outside of the home environment to help in building their character and their confidence. The mentoring program has been developed to serve as a safe haven for individuals to socialize with others their age while learning a variety of skills needed to become productive citizens in our society.  The tutoring program is designed to address the individual needs of members Kindergarten to Adult.

This program is designed to help to make a difference in the lives of our members.
